Brookfield Residents To Vote On Town, School Budgets Tuesday BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Brookfield voters will head to the polls Tuesday to vote on the proposed $63.4 million budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year. The budget proposal include $17.3 million for town operations, $40.38 million for school operations, $1.3 million for capital projects and $4.4 million for debt service. The total budget represents a 3.63 percent increase over the 2015-16 budget. If approved, the mill rate would increase from 25.7 for the current year to 26.4, an increase of 2.72 percent. Post Road East from Compo Road to Hillspoint Road was closed for an extended period of time following the accident, police said.  One person was sent to the hospital as a result of the crash. Norwalk Police Identify 5-Year-Old Struck And Killed By Car NORWALK, Conn. -- Police have identified the 5-year-old boy struck and killed by a car in a driveway on Woodacre Road Thursday as Peter Tinnen-Strmiska, a resident of Norwalk. Police said that Tinnen-Strmiska was in the driveway when he was struck by a car pulling into the driveway at around 5:10 p.m. Thursday.
