Self-Inflicted Gunshot Death Reported In Easton EASTON, Conn. -- A person died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Easton Tuesday, according to the Easton Courier. Police were contacted Tuesday morning by somebody who knew about a possible suicide attempt, the Easton Courier reported. The person and their vehicle were located in the rear of a property on Black Rock Road, the Easton Courier said. Pregnant Connecticut Woman Tests Positive For Zika Virus FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A Connecticut woman who became pregnant while traveling in Central America has tested positive for the Zika virus, according to the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Zika is a mosquito-borne virus that can cause fever, rash, joint pain and conjunctivitis lasting several days to a week. There is no vaccine and deaths are rare, but the virus can spread from pregnant women to their fetuses, leading to birth defects and miscarriages.
