A Connecticut-born New York University student is facing hate crime charges after authorities say he raised a flag featuring swastikas above a campus building during commencement ceremonies.
Alexander Stepnowsky, 23, of Fairfield, Connecticut, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, June 2, on Manhattan's Lower East Side. According to the New York City Police Department, he is charged with one count of hate crime burglary, two counts of aggravated harassment, and one count of criminal trespassing in a hate crime.

A Connecticut man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he robbed a local bank and threatened employees while displaying a weapon.
Jeffrey Thibeault, 58, was arrested on Wednesday, June 4, following a months-long investigation into a robbery at M&T Bank on East Street in Plainville, according to police. He is charged with robbery, threatening, and larceny.
Investigators said a man walked into the bank on Feb. 20, pulled a weapon, threatened the teller, and demanded cash, Plainville police said. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

CT Man Living In Home Of Woman's Suspicious Death Faces New Domestic Violence Charges
A Connecticut man who lives in the home where a woman was found dead earlier this year has turned himself in to police after being charged with strangling and threatening a woman he met on a dating app.
Cole Werhan, 28, of Burlington, turned himself in to police on Wednesday, June 25, and was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening, and second-degree strangulation/suffocation, according to Connecticut State Police. His bond was initially set at $100,000 before a judge raised it to $750,000.
