Award-Winning Chef Accused Of Beating Wife To Death In Massachusetts Hotel Room
An award-winning chef at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, accused of beating his wife to death at a university hotel, has pleaded not guilty.
Jeffrey MacDonald, 36, of Wilbraham, is charged with murder and assault and battery on a police officer after his arrest at Hotel UMass, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
Campus police received a 911 call around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, reporting an emergency in Room 413. When they arrived, officers found the body of 31-year-old Emma MacDonald, authorities said.

A Connecticut man was arrested on a drunken driving charge following a traffic stop in Westchester County, police said.
The incident leading to the arrest happened around 6:50 p.m. on Monday, April 20, when a City of Rye police officer pulled over a vehicle on Purchase Street for a traffic violation, the department said on Thursday, April 23.
The driver was identified as Jan A. Sokolowski, 59, of Meriden, Connecticut.
According to police, Sokolowski was taken into custody and charged with DWI, along with other vehicle and traffic violations.
