Massive Seaside Heights Drug Bust: Meth, Fentanyl, Cocaine Seized, Prosecutor Says
Two Jersey Shore residents were jailed after officials seized methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl pills, ecstasy, and cash from a borough home tied to a month-long narcotics investigation, authorities said Wednesday, May 27.
Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Seaside Heights Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and Asbury Park Police Department investigated alleged drug activity tied to a home used by Leo Johnson, 50, and Michelle Karcher, 46, both of Seaside Heights, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Jackson Investor Hijacked Victim’s $300K Credit Line, Prosecutor Says
A New Jersey man is accused of stealing access to a victim’s $300,000 home equity line of credit and impersonating a mortgage company during the scheme, authorities said.
Stephen Intrieri, 44, of Mount Laurel, was charged Thursday, May 21, with theft by unlawful taking and impersonation in connection with an investigation tied to Jackson Township, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
Investigators said the victim opened a Home Equity Line of Credit, or HELOC, against his property in October 2025 with plans to invest part of the money with Intrieri.

Passenger, 28, Killed After Being Ejected In NJ Turnpike Van Crash
A 28-year-old Westchester man was killed after being ejected from a van in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike last week, authorities said.
A Ford van heading north on the Turnpike when it lost directional control, struck the left guardrail, and overturned in the outer roadway near milepost 75.5 in South Brunswick Township at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Friday, May 22, Detective Sgt. Caitlin Brennan said.
Juan Ramirez Mejia, 28, of Yonkers, was riding in the front passenger seat when he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, police said. He died as a result of the crash.

A Jackson woman is accused of operating a prostitution ring through unlicensed spas across Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, authorities said Tuesday, May 26.
Kelly Jahnke-Gonzalez, 44, was arrested May 12 following a months-long investigation led by the Sayreville Police Department Vice Unit in coordination with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and multiple law enforcement agencies, according to Sayreville police.
The investigation centered around Joha's Spa locations in Brick, Millstone, Jackson, and Sayreville, NJ Advance Media reports citing charging documents.
