One person suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash that closed Route 80 Monday afternoon, Oct. 2. A Hyundai SUV was heading west on the highway when a Ford traveling on the on ramp from Route 206 south around 4:30 p.m. in Mount Olive, NJSP Sgt. Charles Marchan said. The Hyundai struck the curb on the right shoulder, traveled over a concrete median and struck the Ford. The Ford was redirected off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail on impact, and the Hyundai overturned and impacted a guardrail off the right shoulder. Heavy rain on Friday, Sept. 29 closed major roadways across New Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in the late afternoon, as rain continued falling, leaving drivers trapped in flood waters across the state. Dunderhook Road at Paramus Road in Paramus remained closed due to flooding, leading the borough's Office of Emergency Management to urge an evacuation of the area late Friday afternoon. Wrong-Way Crash Closes NJ Turnpike For Hours On Labor Day
A wrong-way crash closed a portion of the NJ Turnpike up for hours on Labor Day. The accident happened just before 1:40 a.m. on the northbound side of the Turnpike in Carneys Point, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Water Main Break Floods Route 4 Exit In Paramus
A water main break in Paramus on Thursday flooded part of Route 4 and closed a busy exit ramp. Construction crews working near the exit ramp for Paramus Road off the westbound highway accidentally punctured the 16-inch main shortly before noon Aug. 17.
