NJ Man Who Murdered Parents Learns Fate: Ocean County Prosecutor
A 37-year-old Barnegat man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for stabbing his parents to death, authorities announced Friday, June 5.
Michael Mulgrew previously pleaded guilty to murdering Eugene Mulgrew, 71 and Cheryl Mulgrew, 69, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
On Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 at 11 a.m., Barnegat Township police responded to Lincoln Avenue and noticed Michael walking away from the residence, Billhimer said. Officers then noticed red staining on the front door of the residence and upon entry, found blood in various areas of the home, Billhimer said.

Anthony Head, the British actor known for "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Ted Lasso," and "Merlin," died after complications from pneumonia, according to multiple reports on Friday, June 5.
NBC News reported that Head’s family confirmed his death. BBC News also reported that his daughters, Emily Head and Daisy Head, said he died surrounded by family.

A 23-year-old swimmer remained missing Saturday, June 6, more than a day after disappearing in the water off the Jersey Shore.
The U.S. Coast Guard received a report at approximately 1:57 p.m. Friday, June 5, of a person in the water about 100 yards offshore of Seaside Heights, a spokesperson for the agency said.
A 47-foot Motor Lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light and a helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City were dispatched to the scene, according to the Coast Guard. Local emergency responders also deployed marine, aerial, and shoreline search resources.
