Convicted NY Man Busted With Loaded 9mm During Traffic Stop: Cops
A New York man with a prior conviction was busted with an illegal loaded gun during a routine traffic stop, police said.
Miguel A. Flores, 23, was a passenger when Cohoes police pulled over a vehicle on I-787 on Friday, May 15 around 8 p.m., the Cohoes Police Department said Monday, May 18.
Flores, of Albany, was found to be in possession of a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm semi-automatic handgun, cops said. He was arrested and charged with six counts of weapons possession, including one for having a weapon despite a prior conviction, authorities said.

Two men were killed and three others were critically injured after an SUV crashed into a group of pedestrians in Manhattan Friday night, May 15, police said.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. near West 109th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
Police said a 61-year-old man driving a Mercedes-Benz SUV north on Amsterdam Avenue lost control of the vehicle, slammed into two parked cars, and struck five men ages 35, 36, 44, 46, and 51. All five victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Crystal Meth, Cocaine Found In Greene County Traffic Stop: State Police
Two New York men were busted in possession of several illegal drugs while traveling through the Capital Region, authorities said Thursday, May 14.
Garrett Auer, 49, and Coty O’Keefe, 39, were arrested in possession of crystal methamphetamine, more than 20 grams of cocaine, and buprenorphine, New York State Police said.
O’Keefe was driving a 2009 Toyota through Cairo with Auer as a passenger just after midnight on Sunday, May 10, when state troopers initiated a traffic stop, authorities said.

Man Who Ditched Loaded Gun During Wild NY Police Pursuit Learns His Fate
A New York man who chucked an illegal gun while fleeing from the cops was sentenced to several years in prison, authorities announced Thursday, May 14.
Jamarl Townsend, 32, was handed 10 years behind bars and five years parole at his hearing Thursday, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Townsend, of Albany, was seen violating traffic laws in a Nissan Rogue on Dec. 5, 2024, near Lexington Avenue and Sherman Street, and cops tried to pull him over, according to prosecutors.
