An employee at a Westchester County school for people with special needs is accused of slapping a student, police said.
Oscar G. Vigil, 24, of Yorktown, was arrested Thursday, May 7, following an investigation into allegations involving a student at Shrub Oak International School, the Yorktown Police Department announced on Friday, May 8.
Authorities said the investigation began after police responded on Nov. 19, 2025, to a report involving the welfare of an endangered adult at the school.

Richard Joffre Lara-Bohorquez, 51, of Nyack, was arrested on Friday, May 1, on aggravated DWI charges following an incident on Interstate 87 in Greenburgh, New York State Police announced on Friday, May 8.
According to State Police, on the day of Lara-Bohorquez's arrest, troopers found a 2008 Toyota sedan parked on the right shoulder of I-87 in Greenburgh shortly before 6 p.m.

Two men are facing charges after a multi-agency investigation into the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine across the Hudson Valley, Capital Region, and New York City, Dutchess County prosecutors said.

A fired delivery driver is accused of slashing tires on nearly 30 Amazon delivery vehicles, stealing key fobs, and trying to hide evidence in a river, authorities said.
Anthony Gillio of Cape Coral, Florida, was arrested on Friday, May 1, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said. The 22-year-old was charged with grand theft of between $5,000 and $10,000, two counts of criminal mischief, and tampering with evidence.
