An independent flower shop in Northern Westchester is preparing to close its doors after nearly a decade in business.
Upper Village Blooms, located at 122 Grand St. in Croton-on-Hudson, announced over the weekend that it will officially close after eight years in business.
The florist’s final retail day will be Sunday, June 7. Throughout June, the shop will also sell remaining inventory, display pieces, and furniture.

More than 157,000 electric kettles are being recalled because their handles can loosen or separate, creating serious burn risks.
ZWILLING J. A. Henckels Aktiengesellschaft is recalling about 113,440 ENFINIGY 1.5-liter Electric Kettles and ENFINIGY Pro 1.5-liter Electric Kettles, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, May 14. About 43,963 kettles were sold in Canada and around 48 were sold in Mexico.
