Driver Stopped For Tinted Glass, Phone Use Also Had Loaded Gun, Hollow Points: Little Ferry PD
An out-of-state motorist who was stopped for talking on his cellphone had a gun loaded with hollow-point bullets in a high-capacity magazine in his glove compartment, Little Ferry police said.
Officer James Serio spotted the 2017 Acura sedan with tinted windows in the area of eastbound Route 46 and Bergen Turnpike shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Police Chief James Walters said.
Serio activated his lights and siren, stopping the vehicle on the other side of the Hackensack River bridge in Ridgefield Park, he said.

Long Island Duo Charged With Robbery After Change Machine 'Ate Their Money,' Police Say
A Long Island duo was charged with robbery after they allegedly stole $20 from a laundromat attendant after the cash change machine ate their money.
The incident took place in Westbury around 8:40 p.m., Monday, July 18.
According to detectives, William Solarzano, age 18, and Jennifer Coreas, age 24, both of Hempstead, entered Olivia’s Laundromat located at 535 Old Country Road to do laundry.
Solarzano told a female employee the change machine did not dispense quarters after he inserted his money, Nassau County Police said.

Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Tractor-Trailer At Long Island Auto Dealer, Police Say
A man was killed following a crash at a Long Island auto dealership.
It happened at around 3:35 a.m. Saturday, May 14 in Saint James.
Robert Greene, age 33, of South Setauket, was driving a 2012 Ford Taurus eastbound on Middle Country Road when his vehicle struck a 2022 International tractor-trailer backing in to an Acura dealership, located at 780 Middle Country Road, Suffolk County Police said.
Greene was pronounced dead at the scene.
