Adams County Woman Dies In Crash On Rt. 30 In York A 60-year-old woman from Adams County died in a car crash along Route 30 in York on Saturday, according to the county coroner. Bertha L. Harner, of the 1000 block of Spangler Road in Hamilton Township died in a two vehicle crash that happened at 6419 Lincoln Highway in Jackson Township around noon. Harner was pulling out of a private driveway northbound onto Lincoln Highway when her vehicle was struck on its driver’s side by the front end of a vehicle that was traveling eastbound, according to Northern York County Regional police. The slur reading in part "God Laughs Die," was sprayed in red paint outside the office of the Phoenix Counseling Center near Gettysburg on Sunday. Massive Scrapyard Fire Closes Part Of Route 30 In Adams County .A massive scrapyard fire has caused traffic disruptions in Adams County, according to crews on the scene. The fire at Consolidated Scrap Resources in the 2200 block of York Road Straban Township started at 8:45 a.m. The fire closed Route 30 from Route 15 to Centennial Road. At one point a fire engine battling the blaze caught fire, according to crews at the scene. No injuries have been reported.

Police responded to an animal cruelty report in the 300 block of South Hickory Lane on Sunday just before 5 p.m. Upon arrival police found the beheaded kitten saying, "the eviscerated [kitten] had injuries consistent with disembowelment." Photos: Fire Tears Through Adams County Barn A fire ripped through a barn in Adams County bringing several different fire companies to the scene Saturday. The owners were able to get all of the animals out when crews began arriving  to the 90x90-foot barn on the 200 block of Hershey Heights in Berwick Township around 12:30 p.m. Firefighters worked in 90-degree heat to control the 2-alarm blaze. Metropolitan Edison is using a helicopter and it's ginormous saw to trim trees along four power lines in York and Adams counties. The saw blade is actually multiple blades-- ten, 24-inch rotary blades cover the 20 foot cutting surface, which can through 8 to 10 inch trees. The helicopter setup covers more area in one day than a ground crew might complete in a week, says Metropolitan Edison. PA Man Threatens To Harm Woman Over Price Of Easter Candy, Police Say A man threatened to harm an Adams County woman over the price of Easter candy according to Pennsylvania State Police.The threats allegedly occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the Family Dollar located at 3460 Biglerville Road in Biglerville Borough on March 15. Karissa Bateman, 25, of Gettysburg, reported the incident to police. The man allegedly made terroristic threats towards Bateman following a dispute over the price of Easter candy, according to a PSP report issued March 26. There is no word on any on-going investigation relating to this incident.
