Allendale's Mezzaluna Reopens After Fire Mezzaluna is back in business. The Allendale bar and bistro, which has been closed since a fire ripped through it Christmas Eve, will reopen on Tuesday. Owned and operated by the Veseli family since 2003, Mezzaluna will reopen with new menu items as well as a renovated and remodeled interior. "We’ve got handmade pasta we make fresh daily, bread we bake continuously so it’s always warm, and our own unique homemade desserts," the family said on social media.  "We have put a lot of blood and sweat into rebuilding our restaurant. We hope you enjoy for years to come."

Matthew Plotkin was arrested Tuesday following an investigation when authorities received a tip that he engaged in nonconsensual sexual activity with an individual at the Hand and Stone Spa in Allendale last month, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
