Disturbance During Bash Attended By 400 Brings Police, Ambulances To Popular Bergen Party Venue
A disturbance at a popular party venue in Waldwick sent a woman to the hospital and brought both local police and colleagues from neighboring towns. Backups from Allendale and Ho-Ho-Kus were requested after police found nearly 400 people at Glow on Hopper Avenue around 10 p.m. Sunday. A 20-year-old Denville patron apparently had been assaulted and her cellphone taken, Waldwick Police Chief Mark F. Messner said. The phone was later recovered outside, he said. Police: Dashcam Records Pedestrian Struck By Pickup While Crossing Against Signal In Allendale
A 55-year-old Allendale woman appeared to be using her cellphone when she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing against the pedestrian signal as dusk fell Wednesday, authorities said. A dashboard cam operated by another driver captured the 4:28 p.m. crash, said Sgt. Todd A. Griffith, the officer in charge of the department. PD: Telltale Sign Helps Locate Allendale Man Seen Masturbating Outside Waldwick Home
An Allendale man recorded on a doorbell camera masturbating in a Waldwick resident's driveway early Saturday was captured a short time later by police from both towns, authorities said. Paul Montenigro, 44, wasn't difficult to spot, they said. He'd dyed his hair blue. A 23-year-old Hackensack man was arrested following what authorities called a sexually inappropriate incident with an underage partner at a local park. Angel Jonathan Cadme-Avendano, who works as a technician for a biomedical engineering company in Allendale, was sent to the Bergen County Jail on Tuesday to await a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack. Saddle River Barn Fire Poses Challenges
UPDATE: A trio of firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion during a "difficult" weekend barn fire in Saddle River, responders said. The two-alarm, 6:30 p.m. Sunday blaze on Old Farms Road posed an "additional hazard of ammunition exploding due to the heat of the flames," according to Waldwick firefighters, who were among the mutual aid responders.
