Born in Poughkeepsie on Nov. 18, 1953, she was the daughter of John and Christina Merte Whiten. Her father predeceased her and her mother survives. Earlier report: An alert has been issued by the New Canaan Police Department following the disappearance of an 86-year-old man who went missing from an adult day care program. Home Health Aid Sentenced For Stamford Thefts A Bridgeport home health aide hired to care for an elderly Alzheimer's patient was sentenced to five years in jail Friday for stealing $26,000 from the 81-year-old woman. During sentencing in Stamford, Philliann Barnett, 39, was given a 10-year sentence, reduced by half. She will also have to pay restitution and will serve five years of probation following her release.
