ID Released For Connecticut Avenue Homicide Victim
Police have released the identity of a 34-year-old man shot and killed on Connecticut Avenue in Bridgeport. Jerrell Gatewood, of Bridgeport, was shot once around 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, in the area of 5th Street, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald. He was struck in the torso and collapsed at the scene. Bridgeport Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene one minute later and requested that police and medics respond to their location, Fitzgerald said. Cat Saved After Fire Breaks Out In Trumbull House
Firefighters managed to save a cat during a large garage fire at a single-story Trumbull home. The fire took place around 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at a home on Hedgehog Road, said the Trumbull Fire Department. The first firefighters on scene found a home with an attached garage with an intense fire, the department said on Facebook. Woman Rescued From Burning Car On I-95
Quick action by two witnesses to a car crash saved a Norwalk woman's life after she experienced a medical emergency on I-95. The incident took place around noon Wednesday when both Bridgeport resident Frederico Davis and Connecticut Conservation Police Officer John Hey witnessed a two-car motor vehicle accident in the area of the Black Rock Turnpike overpass, said officials with the Fairfield Fire Department. Lightning Leads To Multiple Structure Fires In Fairfield
Multiple fires broke out early Thursday night after storms with heavy downpours and lightning swept through the area. The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a structure fire at 1300 Mill Hill Road in the Town of Fairfield at 6:38 p.m. Engines 1, 3, 4, 5, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, and Car 3 responded.
