Details Released In Amtrak Strike Of Man, 39, That Caused Major Delays
A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Jersey, delaying rail service between Philadelphia and New York City Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, authorities said. The name of the man killed had not been released pending notification of family, said Lt. John Bresnen of the Plainsboro Police Department. A person standing on the train tracks in the Hudson Valley was hit and killed by a southbound Amtrak train. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 1;15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 just south of Rhinecliff in Hyde Park, said Jason Abrams, a spokesman for Amtrak. Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In Princeton
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Princeton Friday, Nov. 4, authorities said. Northeast Corridor train 3953, which had left form Penn station New York, struck the victim around 6:35 p.m. at Princeton Junction station, NJ Transit officials said. No injuries were reported to the customers or the crew on board. Northeast Corridor service was temporarily suspended in both directions but has since resumed. Amtrak police were leading the investigation with assistance from New Jersey Transit Police.
