A jury of six found an area man guilty of 18 counts of animal neglect after 18 ducks were found at his residence living in filth and suffering from various ailments in Ulster County. Ben Gary Treistman, 58, of Woodstock, was found guilty by the town of Olive jury on Thursday, Oct. 31, of failure to provide proper sustenance in violation of the agriculture and markets law covering animal neglect, said Ulster District Attorney Holley Carnright. Reward For Info Now Being Offered After Young Dog Tied To Tree Found In Area
A reward is now being offered for information after a young dog was found tied to a tree off of a busy stretch of I-84. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, a New York State Department of Transportation crew getting ready to mow near mile marker 50 in Dutchess County on the highway in East Fishkill heard what sounded like a dog barking in the nearby woods, state police said. Dogs Abandoned Without Food Or Water Inside Foreclosed Newark Home: AHS
A pair of shih tzus were found caked in their own waste inside a locked crate that had been left in a Newark house, the Associated Humane Societies of Newark said. The dogs, dubbed "Fred" and "Wilma," were found by a man hired to clean out the foreclosed house. The cleaner brought the pair to AHS in Newark, where staff were horrified by their condition. A Westchester County man was arrested on alleged animal cruelty charges after his badly injured Beagle was found running loose and saved by a Good Samaritan. Oakland Shelter Takes In 12 Severely Neglected Dogs Abandoned In Paterson
OAKLAND, N.J. – The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland is caring for 12 dogs that were found abandoned and caged in an empty Paterson house on Tuesday. The dogs are “the most seriously matted and neglected dogs we have ever seen,” RBARI shared in a Facebook. “All twelve dogs are in need of medical care and extensive grooming, as some of them are unable to even see or walk due to their severe matting,” the shelter posted.
