A 51-year-old Hackettstown man was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 4 and charged with vehicular manslaughter following a Thanksgiving Eve crash that killed a 33-year-old mother of two. Andrzej Szysko was heading east in a Jeep Wrangler that struck the passenger's side of a Ford pickup truck, heading south on Route 517 in Allamuchy around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, New Jersey State Police said. UPDATE: A high school student who ran after causing a crash that gravely injured a Teaneck mom near her home was seized by township police and will be prosecuted, authorities confirmed. Driver Who Struck Student At School Bus Stop Charged With Assault By Auto In South Jersey
The driver of a car that struck at student crossing the street to a school bus has been charged with assault by auto in Gloucester Township, authorities said. The 15-year-old student from Camden County Technical School was seriously injured by the driver who allegedly ignored the bus' extended stop bar and warning lights, according to Gloucester Township police. Driver Who Hit Pedestrian In River Vale Charged With Assault By Auto, DWI
A Mahwah driver with a criminal history was drunk when he struck a pedestrian in River Vale, authorities said. Nicholas M. Manuele, 27, was charged with assault by auto and DWI in a school zone following the early evening crash on Demarest Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 25, River Vale Police Chief Christopher Bulger said. Ziyang Wang, of Jersey City, was behind the wheel of a BMW X5 M0i that struck a Kia Amanti driven by 26-year-old Dylan Weidenfeld head-on, on Paterson Plank Road around 12:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16. A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal DWI crash in Old Bridge on Sunday night, July 16, authorities said.
