A 35-year-old man from Bayonne is accused of driving into two police officers while freeing up his car from a crash scene, authorities said. Sean P. Olson was charged with driving under the influence and assault by auto as a result on Tuesday, Feb. 14, according to Bayonne Police Capt. Eric Amato Olson was taken into custody just after midnight near West 3rd Street. A 33-year-old man from Sicklerville was arrested after a three-car DWI crash that resulted in the death of a woman passenger in another car, authorities said. Brendan Haas was charged with DWI, death by auto and assault by auto, according to Monroe Township police. Antionette Hummel, 81, of Hammonton was killed in the collision, police said. A 22-year-old driver is accused of traveling more than 100 miles per hour just before a fatal collision, authorities said. Gabriel H. A 19-year-old woman busted for shoplifting in Morris County was charged with assault by auto for hitting an officer with her car during her getaway attempt, authorities said Monday. A 22-year-old Newark man has been arrested more than a year after a hit-and-run crash that left a 56-year-old woman and her 3-year-old grandson critical, authorities announced. Micah James was arrested during a traffic stop in Georgia, on a warrant relating to the September 2021 incident in North Bergen, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A Philadelphia man has been indicted in connection with a fatal DWI crash in Cumberland County, authorities said. Brian A. Trexler, 23, of Oakmont Street, drove off of Route 347 in Maurice River Township on May 30, 2021, striking several trees, New Jersey State Police said. Brad M. Geist, of Philadelphia, a passenger in the back seat, was killed while two other passengers were seriously hurt. Trexler was indicted on five counts including vehicular homicide and assault by auto, according to the grand jury indictment.

A 51-year-old driver from Glouchester County was charged in a hit-and-run crash involving an 11-year-old pedestrian. The victim was taken to Cooper Hospital and is in stable condition. The boy was walking along the 500 block of Oak Avenue in Franklin Township at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 when he was hit by a passing vehicle, according to Franklin Township Police. Paul Mensch, of Malaga, was charged with assault by auto and released on a summons pending a court appearance.
