An angry ex-husband is accused of breaking into a woman’s home in the region and assaulting her new boyfriend, authorities said.
Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called just before 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, with reports of an assault at a home in Ballston Spa, located on Victory Circle, according to Ballston Spa Police.
Investigators determined that William Ferrara, age 34, of Niskayuna, had entered the home without permission and assaulted his ex-wife’s new boyfriend with a wine bottle before fleeing the scene.

Woman Smuggled Drugs Into Capital Region Jail For Inmate Relative, Police Say
A woman from the region has gone from jail visitor to possible jail inmate after allegedly smuggling drugs into a correctional facility for a relative.
Saratoga County resident Rondene Brust, age 53, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 11, after she allegedly brought a controlled substance into the Saratoga County jail, according to sheriff’s officials.
Brust then passed the “dangerous contraband” to an inmate, 32-year-old Bryan Brust, of Ballston Spa, police said.
Authorities did not immediately clarify the relationship between the two.

Saratoga County resident Connor Hayhurst, age 15, of Ballston Spa, donned his very own Schenectady Police uniform on Tuesday, Aug. 30, before helping investigators track down the culprit in a mock theft case.

Inmate Assaults Deputy At Hospital In Capital District, Police Say
A jail inmate from the Capital District is facing a fresh set of charges after allegedly assaulting a sheriff’s deputy at a hospital in the region.
Saratoga County resident Bruce Larrabee, age 24, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Monday, Aug. 1, for felony second-degree assault.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Larrabee, an inmate at the county jail, kicked the deputy in his face causing physical injury.
The incident reportedly happened Sunday, July 31, while the two were at Saratoga Hospital, located on Myrtle Street in Saratoga Springs.
