Jersey Shore Woman Who Sold Opioids, Meth Across NJ Sentenced
An Ocean County woman will spend time in prison after admitting to selling opioids and methamphetamine across New Jersey, authorities said. Laurie Maxson, 54, of Barnegat, was sentenced on Friday, Apr. 12 to three years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. She pleaded guilty on Monday, Jan. 29 to conspiracy to distribute more than five ounces of methamphetamine. Three people were accused of selling several types of drugs throughout Ocean County, authorities said. Car Crashes Into Toll Booth On Garden State Parkway In Ocean County
A car crashed into a toll booth on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, causing an afternoon traffic slowdown. The New Jersey Department of Transportation said a vehicle overturned at the southbound toll plaza in Barnegat. The crash happened just after noon on Friday, Feb. 9. Traffic cameras showed a car on its roof up against a booth in the far left lane of the plaza. The crash closed down at least one lane.

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, Cheryl Mulgrew called police seeking a psychiatric evaluation for her 34-year-old son, Michael Mulgrew, who had been experiencing a mental health problem, police documents say. A 52-year-old woman from Ocean County has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with more than $108,000 stolen from her employer — a marina, authorities said. Lisa Dowd of Barnegat was sentenced on Friday, June 2 as a result of her previously entered guilty plea to theft, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
