Passenger, 26, Seriously Hurt In NJ Turnpike Crash With Tractor-Trailer, Police Say
A 26-year-old man from the Bronx was seriously injured in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning, June 28, authorities said.
New Jersey State Police troopers responded around 4:39 a.m. to the southbound lanes at milepost 114.7 on the western spur in Carlstadt, Bergen County, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 25-year-old man from Paterson was driving a Honda Civic southbound when the vehicle veered onto the right shoulder, hit a guardrail, and crashed into the back of a parked International tractor-trailer, Lebron said.

A 34-year-old Bergen County man is facing charges after police say he led officers on a wild motorcycle chase through streets and lawns.
East Rutherford Police Sgt. Rubino attempted to stop a motorcycle with an unclear license plate on Paterson Avenue on Saturday, June 21, according to East Rutherford Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone.

A Clifton man with a violent criminal history was arrested after allegedly threatening a Bergen County recreation director, police said.
Ibrahem O. Elgebaly, 30, was taken into custody by Clifton police on Monday, June 16, on an active warrant out of East Rutherford, according to ERPD Capt. Jeff Yannacone.
Elgebaly is accused of sending threatening messages via Facebook, email, and phone to the East Rutherford Recreation Director, Yannacone said.
