Authorities have identified the 70-year-old man who was killed in a Moonachie shed fire that left his wife injured.
Ida Kaba was pronounced dead at the scene following the 4:30 p.m. blaze Thursday, April 10 at the Oak Street home, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Fire crews from Moonachie and Wood-Ridge, along with other neighboring departments, responded to the scene. When they got there, they found a shed on fire in the backyard, and Kaba down near the entrance, Musella said.

A 52-year-old man from Virginia is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile in New Jersey, officials said.
Jose G. Sanchez, of Berryville, VA, sexually assaulted the victim, between ages 13 and 16, while at a party in Allendale last November, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and charging documents obtained by Daily Voice.
On Friday, March 21, the Allendale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile that had occurred in the past in Allendale, Musella said.

A Pennsylvania couple was arrested after police say they were caught transporting 14,000 suspected fentanyl pills with a street value of $420,000 on a North Jersey highway.
Edgar Holguin-Reyes, 30, and Yakayra Reyes, 27, both of Reading, PA, were pulled over around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, on Route 287 in Mahwah, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Two men from the Bronx have been indicted for a series of armed robberies that terrorized multiple Bergen County towns last year, authorities said.
Raekwon King, 25, and Karnel Miller-Wright, 22, were charged in connection with four robberies in Fort Lee, Englewood, Hackensack, and Paramus between August and October 2024, Musella said.
