A dispute near New Milford High School after a football game ended with an Englewood teen facing weapons charges, authorities said.
Around 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, officers responded to Madison Avenue and River Road as a large crowd dispersed from the game, Police Chief Brian Clancy said.
Police found all parties involved and determined that Eric Jones, 18, of Englewood, was carrying a foldable knife, according to the chief.

A morning walk turned into a nightmare when a massive tree branch came crashing down in Teaneck, trapping two women, hitting a third, and striking a passing car with a father and his young daughter inside, authorities said.
The branch fell near Sussex Road and Churchill Road around 8:03 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, according to a release from the Teaneck Police Department.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Officer Wanda Rivera responded to Linden Street and Anderson Street for a report of a person who had punctured the tires of a vehicle during a dispute, Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antista said.

A backyard fire tore through a Teaneck home late Saturday night, July 5, displacing three residents and drawing a multi-town response, police said.
The blaze broke out around 11:31 p.m. at 497 Linden Ave., according to Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr. A neighbor spotted a small fire in the backyard and ran over to help, meeting the homeowner and attempting to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. But the flames spread rapidly, McGurr said.

Two men have been arrested and charged in 18 burglaries and one attempted burglary across North Jersey, authorities said.
A months-long investigation found Kali J. Carter, 49, of East Orange, and Demetrius D. Hale, 49, of Bergenfield, were responsible for the incidents, all of which were residential burglaries, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Services Set For Bergenfield High School Principal James 'Jim' Fasano, 59
Funeral arrangements have been finalized for James "Jim" Fasano, the longtime principal of Bergenfield High School.
Fasano died on Thursday, June 27. He was 59 years old.
An official cause of death was not released, however, Bergenfield Superintendent Christopher Tully noted that his passing was sudden.
According to the Riewerts Memorial Home, visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Conlon Hall in Bergenfield. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, July 3 at the St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church at 11 a.m.
