A man from the Jersey Shore has admitted to beating an 87-year-old woman with a golf club and then ripping gold chains from her neck, authorities said. A 55-year-old man from Berkeley Township has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender, authorities said. Responding to complaints from residents, police investigating suspected heroin deals from a home in Ocean County made two arrests. A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. on Route 37 westbound in Berkeley Township, initial reports said. A Jersey Shore man has pleaded guilty to robbing several stores and burglarizing a home, authorities said. Thomas Jann, 34, of Beachwood, pled guilty to six counts of robbery and one count of burglary, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Firefighters, police and EMS crews were called to a report of an overturned vehicle in Ocean County, authorities said.
