Prosecutor: 50-Year-Old Man Critical After Jersey Shore Stabbing Authorities are investigating a stabbing that critically injured an Ocean County man this weekend.  A 50 year-old man from Berkeley Township was stabbed in the neck on Saturday evening and remains hospitalized,  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Berkeley Township Police Chief Karin DiMichele said. The stabbing took place about 7 p.m. in teh Manitou Park section of town, they said. Police found the victim near Magnolia Avenue. The man served as deacon of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Lakehurst, they said. Two Hurt In Ocean County Garden State Parkway Crash Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. One of the injured motorists was flown by Medivac helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City after a northbound car and tractor-trailer collided in Berkeley Township at milepost 77.5, a state police spokesman said. The other injured driver was taken to the hospital by an EMS crew. Troopers from the Galloway barracks were called about 2:30 p.m.

County Fair officials announced Wednesday that the July event — a five-day celebration of agriculture that attracts thousands of visitors from across the region — is canceled due to the spread of coronavirus.  The first county fair was held in 1947 in Lakewood.
