A family-run Greek restaurant that opened on Long Island in late spring is making a big impression on customers.
Souvlaki Street officially opened in North Bellmore on Sunday, June 5, owner Alexandros Katehis said.
Katehis, a resident of Bethpage, said he has worked in the restaurant industry for 35 years, previously operating restaurants in Greece and Brooklyn.
"All my life I've worked in restaurants," he said.

Alert Issued For Missing Hicksville Teen Who Frequents These Nassau County Communities
Police on Long Island are asking the public for help locating a missing teen.
Justin Eng, age 18, of Hicksville, was reported missing on Sunday, July 31.
Eng was last seen leaving his Fox Place residence around 3 p.m., said the Nassau County Police.
He is described as being 6-foot-1, 125 pounds, with black hair and black eyes.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers, police said.
Eng's destination is unknown but he does frequent Levittown, Seaford, East Meadow, and Bethpage.

Woman Accused Of Robbing Bethpage 7-Eleven While Armed With Box Cutter
A 31-year-old woman was apprehended after police said she robbed a 7-Eleven on Long Island.
Lexus Hughes, of Queens, was arrested for a robbery that happened at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, July 29, in Bethpage, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
NCPD said Hughes entered the 7-Eleven, located at 497 Stewart Ave., and a 47-year-old employee recognized her from prior shoplifting incidents.
The employee approached her, and Hughes displayed a box cutter in a threatening manner, police said.
She then fled the scene with merchandise from the store, NCPD reported.
