Heroin, Cocaine, Guns Seized In Essex County Sweep: Sheriff
Five people were arrested after the Essex County Sherriff's Bureau of Narcotics conducted multiple investigations in Newark this month, authorities said. Investigators honed in on Hill Street and Washington Street and South 10th Street and Clinton Avenue, resulting in the seizure of four weapons, 39 grams of heroin, 828 grams of cocaine and over 60 ecstasy pills, Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Accused Dealer Charged With Fentanyl-Laced Crack Death Of Jersey City Man At Lyndhurst Hotel
An accused drug dealer from Bloomfield provided the drugs that killed a user from Jersey City at a Lyndhurst motel, authorities charged. Alberto Delgado, 43, was accused of selling the fentanyl-laced crack that killed 54-year-old Luke Revell after he smoked it at the Winslow Motor Hotel just off eastbound Route 3. Delgado had more than a pound and a half of the drugs in a storage unit when detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office searched it, according to a complaint on file in Superior Court in Hackensack. Bloomfield Man Gets 35 Years For Murder Of Gas Station Attendant: Prosecutors
A 36-year-old Bloomfield man was sentenced to 35 years in state prison on Tuesday, Feb. 6 after being convicted of murdering Jahque Benbow, a 23-year-old gas station attendant in May 2022, prosecutors announced. Lamar Sommers, along with two other men, conspired to shoot Benbow at the Irvington gas station where he worked, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. Deidre Moses, a 28-year-old woman who previously lived in Bloomfield, was arrested last month in Las Vegas for shooting a man in Newark in August, authorities said. At 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, police responded to North 4th Street and found a man who had been shot while inside his residence, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, Cheryl Mulgrew called police seeking a psychiatric evaluation for her 34-year-old son, Michael Mulgrew, who had been experiencing a mental health problem, police documents say.
