A 14-year-old boy rammed a Paramus police vehicle with an SUV stolen from the Jersey Shore before he and two companions were captured, authorities said. Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said the 2020 BMW X7 was reported stolen during a burglary more than 50 miles away in the affluent Monmouth County town of Marlboro. Driver Killed In Morris County Crash On Route 280: State Police
A 58-year-old driver died in a Sunday morning crash on Route 280, authorities said. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near milepost 2.2 in East Hanover around 11:25 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. A Hyundai passenger vehicle driven by Nathaniel Gardiner ran off the right side of the road and down a grass embankment before hitting a tree, Curry said. Gardiner, of Bloomfield, was killed in the crash. The incident remained under investigation. Additional details were not released.

NJ Lyft Carjacker Gets 29 Years
A convicted carjacker who stole a Lyft driver's car after attacking hm and a passenger was sentenced to 29 years in New Jersey State Prison, authorities said. The Bloomfield man was convicted of attempting to murder the driver and assaulting a passenger in April 2019, according to Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel.
