Paterson PD: Detectives Nab Neighborhood Drug-Dealing Pair
If a pair of drug dealers thought they'd keep a low profile in a quiet Paterson east side neighborhood, they were mistaken, police said.
Detectives seized nearly 1,300 heroin folds, a combined 73 Percocet and Xanax pills, 20 bags of crack and a half-pound of pot during warranted searches, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
They also arrested Jeremy Rodriguez, 23, who lives at the Trenton Avenue residence a block and a half down from School No. 25, and Bloomfield resident Arismendi Acosta, 18, on various drug charges, he said.

Motorcyclist, 41, Killed In High-Speed Central Jersey Crash, Police Say
A 41-year-old motorcyclist from Essex County was killed in a crash in Central Jersey, authorities said.
Carlos Caraballo lost control of his motorcycle at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 on Route 1 northbound, Edison police said. The rider skidded and ended up under another vehicle near Parsonage Road, they said.
Caraballo, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead shortly after the crash, police said.
Police say Caraballo was speeding and weaving between other vehicles just before his crash. The driver of the car had not been charged, police said.

Nationwide Hotel Chain's Corporate Credit Chief From NJ Admits Embezzling $300,000
A New Jersey employee who ran the company’s corporate credit card program for a nationwide hotel chain admitted embezzling $300,000, federal authorities said.
Marco Alvarez, 46, of Bloomfield, admitted that he “knowingly opened and used corporate credit cards to make $317,582 in unauthorized personal purchases” from April 2014 through January 2020, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
