: Driver Tending To Disabled Truck Struck By Sedan In Boonton, Injured
A tractor-trailer driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries he sustained while tending to his disabled vehicle on the shoulder of Route 287 in Boonton, New Jersey State Police said. The driver was in the roadway was placing reflective markers around his truck when he was struck around 11:40 p.m. Friday night, Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The 58-year-old Hackettstown driver of the Hyundai Elantra that struck him remained at the scene and was not not issued a citation as of Tuesday morning, police said. Morris County Doctor Convicted In Bunny Slope Attack On Boy, 12
A jury found Morris County Dr. Samuel Caruthers guilty of stabbing a then-12-year-old boy with a ski pole on a Mountain Creek bunny slope in 2016, reports say. Caruthers, 47 of Mountain Lakes, was found guilty Wednesday of child endangerment, simple assault, a disorderly persons offense and unlawful weapon possession, the New Jersey Herald reports. His attorney intends on filing a motion to overturn the verdict, the report says. 6 Students Hospitalized In Boonton School Bus Crash
The driver of a school bus was found slumped on the floor after her bus carrying nearly 20 students crashed Friday in Boonton -- sending at least six of them to the hospital, ABC7 reports. Eighteen Rockaway Valley School students were on the bus when it struck a utility pole and wrought iron fence on Valley Road near a church cemetery, the article says. A teacher or aide guided the students out the back door and onto another bus that took them back to the school, ABC7 reports. The crash was under investigation as of 6:30 p.m. Friday. Authorities ID Body Pulled From Reservoir As Missing Boonton Man
A body found in the Boonton Reservoir Sunday was identified as a local man reported missing last year by local police, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday. Sean Stohl, 53, was reported missing by the Boonton Police Department last November, and was considered to be "endangered" due to pre-existing medical conditions. His body was found on the Parsippany side of the reservoir Sunday, the prosecutor's office said.

Rockaway Family Escapes Weekend Blaze
A Rockaway family of five escaped a weekend fire that destroyed part of their house, township officials said. Two parents and three children were staying with a neighbor after a blaze that started in their Whitfield Court chimney spread into the attic Saturday evening, Councilman Tucker Kelley said. "The parents and their three children have received temporary housing and many of their belongings were saved as well," Kelley said. Responders included firefighters from Rockaway Township, Rockaway Borough, Boonton, Denville, Kinnelon, Picatinny and West Milford.

Boonton Man Fatally Struck On Route 78 Was 'Amazing Musician, Incredible Friend'
A 29-year-old Boonton man was fatally struck by two cars that kept driving on a Newark highway early Sunday morning, authorities said. Dominick P. DeNegri was hit by separate vehicles heading westbound -- both of which kept driving -- on Route 78 near milepost 55.4 after he got out of his vehicle around 3:30 a.m., New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
