Authorities Try To ID Occupant Killed In Fiery Stolen Car Crash In Woodland Park
A stolen car slammed head-on into a tree and burst into flames in Woodland Park before dawn Tuesday, killing an as-yet unidentified occupant, authorities said. Members of West Paterson Fire Department doused the blaze and extricated the deceased victim after the 2012 Ford Mustang crashed on McBride Avenue near Hughes Place around 5:30 a.m., Acting Police Chief John Uzzalino said. "It was a bad scene," Mayor Keith Kazmark said. Police: Bergenfield ID Thieves Claim More Than 50 Victims
A pair of ID thieves from Bergenfield stole thousands of dollars from the bank accounts of more than 50 victims, authorities said Tuesday. Borough police worked with members of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Secret Service and police in Brick and Absecon to crack the case. It began last August, when one of the victims told borough police that someone had opened several accounts in her name and accumulated outstanding balances on them, Detective Lt. William Duran said. New Milford SUV Crash Follows Medical Episode
A driver apparently had a diabetic episode before her SUV crashed onto a corner property in New Milford. She got out on the passenger side of the Mazda following the crash at Henley Avenue and Bliss Drive. An ambulance took her to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck with what weren't considered life-threatening injuries. A tow truck removed the vehicle. Borough police and firefighters also responded.

Sedan, SUV Collide In New Milford
Two drivers escaped serious injury in a crash Friday afternoon in New Milford. Bystanders got the female driver out of a Toyota Camry after it was knocked onto the driver's side by a Toyota 4Runner at the corner of Henley Avenue and River Road shortly before 2 p.m. Both she and the SUV driver didn't appear seriously injured, they said. Bergenfield Parents Sue Over High School Lunchroom Attack That Ripped Daughter's Earlobe Open
The parents of a Bergenfield High School student who had her earlobe ripped open during what they said was a planned lunchroom attack are suing students, the school, the district and the borough. Pedro and Stephanie Chevere allege in a lawsuit that a 15-year-old classmate “violently assaulted and battered” their daughter, then a sophomore, tearing her right earlobe in half and “viciously” punching and kicking her during the Nov. 19, 2019 attack. Bronx Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Edgewater Stabbing
UPDATE: A Bronx man was charged with attempted murder in a weekend stabbing in Edgewater. Victor Rodriguez, 32, remained held Monday in the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack. Jeep Knocked Onto Divider In Fair Lawn Crash
A traffic light came down and a Jeep ended up on the median in a Saturday afternoon crash in Fair Lawn. One of the drivers was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a traumatic injury after the Jeep collided with a sedan at the corner of 30th Street and Broadway shortly before 6 p.m., witnesses said. Ends Up On Top Of Parked Car In Crash With Pickup, Sedan In Westwood Crash
No serious injuries were immediately reported in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Westwood. Firefighters had to extricate the driver of a sedan involved in the crash with a pickup truck and a MINI Cooper that plowed through a fence and a row of hedges and landed on a parked car on Old Hook Road near Emerson Road around 1:45 p.m. Borough police temporarily closed the road for an investigation and clearing of the wreckage.
