Newly Hired Hofstra Associate Women's Basketball Coach Dies After Fall
Longtime women’s college basketball coach Cathy Inglese, who was hired by Hofstra as associate head coach earlier this summer, died after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a fall. The 60-year-old, who was head coach at Boston College from 1993 through 2008 - making the NCAA Sweet 16 three times - was hired by Hofstra in June. Staples HS Welcomes New Principal
The Westport Board of Education has named a veteran educator to take over at the helm of Staples High School. The Board announced on Thursday that Stafford W. Thomas, Jr. will succeed Principal James D’Amico, who announced earlier this year that he was resigning to take over at his hometown high school in New Fairfield. Thomas will take over on July 1, when D’Amico’s resignation officially takes effect. He was unanimously approved by the Board at a meeting on Thursday, June 20. Hasbrouck Heights Professor Found Unfit To Be Tried In Attempted St. Patrick's Arson
UPDATE: A philosophy professor from Hasbrouck Heights who authorities said planned to burn down St. Patricks' Cathedral was found unfit to stand trial, Manhattan's district attorney announced Tuesday. A 39-year-old man who died in a fiery crash in Westport early Sunday has been identified. Cullen Walsh, of Weston, was identified as the person killed in the crash, according to the Westport Police Department.
