South Jersey Man Committed 'Smash-And-Grab' Burglaries Along Jersey Shore: Police
An Ocean County man was accused of several "smash-and-grab" burglaries along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Todd Lansing, 46, of Brick Township, was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools. The Brielle Police Department announced his charges in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 28. Two Cats Killed In South Jersey House Fire
Two cats were killed when a house caught fire in Ocean County, officials said. Brick Township firefighters responded to the unit in a multi-family building on Northrup Drive at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 27, the Brick Township Fire Safety Bureau said in a news release. The person inside the house got out safely after hearing the smoke detector and no humans were injured. Firefighters had to battle heavy flames due to "excessive storage" inside the home. A 54-year-old driver was killed when his vehicle veered off the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County on Thursday, March 14, State Police said. Joseph Pace, of Brick township, was heading south in a Hyundai when he rear-ended a Jeep SUV in Wall Township near milepost 100.3 just after 3:05 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. The man accused of murder in a triple shooting at a Toms River hookah lounge will have to stay in jail through his trial. A judge ordered on Thursday, Feb. 22 that Eric Manzanares, 24, of Asbury Park, will remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending his trial, county prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced.
