Boy Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train
A boy was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Thursday, Aug. 8 in Burlington County, officials said. The crash happened just before 8:20 a.m. and involved a northbound River LINE train at Chestnut Street crossing in Palmyra, NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. There were no injuries reported to the 28 customers or the operator on board the light rail vehicle. About 1,500 customers in Burlington County were without power more than a day after thunderstorms raced through New Jersey. 'Rest Easy, My Friend': Motorcyclist Mourned After Deadly Crash On Rural South Jersey Road
A Hammonton man was killed when his motorcycle crashed on a rural road in Burlington County, authorities said. Mark Rodier, 56, died in the crash on County Route 542 in Washington Township on Saturday, Aug. 3, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 14.4 at around 7:10 p.m. Investigators said Rodier was driving east on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it went off the road and overturned. A South Jersey sanitation worker was being praised for saving the life of a kitten caught in a trash compactor. Rise Again Animal Rescue said Mark Motta was on his recycling route with the Burlington County Regional Recycling Program when he found the female kitten covered in oil in his waste compactor.
