On Sunday, April 27 at 1:13 p.m., William Philippi, a 63-year-old Blackwood man was operating a Harley Davidson on Route 540 East in Pittsgrove Township when he lost directional control and struck the back of another Harley Davidson, ran off the roadway, down an embankment into a thick briar patch, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for New Jersey State Police said.

A major wildfire burning in Wharton State Forest has scorched more than 2,300 acres and forced campground evacuations in Waterford Township, Camden County, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said.
