Camden Murder Suspect Captured In FL After License Plate Alert, Police Say
A man wanted for attempted murder in Camden County was arrested in central Florida, authorities said. Edwin Facenda Suriel, 46, was taken into custody in Haines City, FL, on Monday, Dec. 9, according to an arrest report from Florida Highway Patrol. Haines City is in Polk County, about an hour southwest of Orlando and roughly 90 minutes northeast of Tampa. A trooper received an alert at around 10:51 a.m. to watch for a black Dodge Ram pickup with New Jersey license plates. The truck was reportedly linked to a shooting in Camden County. Thirteen people were hurt in a crash on the NJ Turnpike involving a bus carrying military personnel, 6abc reports. The passenger bus had broke down was heading north and was in the right lane and right shoulder when it was struck by a tractor trailer just before 1 p.m. at milepost 25.6 in Runnemede, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. "There were multiple non-life-threatening injuries of occupants on the bus and the driver of the tractor-trailer," Lebron said. A Pennsauken man will spend at least two dozen years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting two children, authorities said. Henry Parker, 72, was sentenced on Thursday, Nov. 7 to 27 years in state prison, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay said in a news release. A jury found Parker guilty on Friday, June 14.
