Indoor Sports Complex Approved As Latest Addition To Cape May Airport
A large indoor sports complex is coming to Cape May County, featuring year-round space for sports like soccer and lacrosse. The commission for the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) unanimously approved a resolution to enter a lease agreement with Aviation Sports Complex LLC. The DRBA announced the agreement on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The developer is planning to build an 80,000-square-foot domed facility at Cape May Airport. A teen boy is fighting for his life after he was critically injured in a crash in Cape May County. A GoFundMe page said 16-year-old Charlie Omrod was in a car with three friends when it crashed into a tree due to "hazardous conditions and severe fog" on Friday, Jan. 26. Four people were injured when their vehicle crashed into a tree in Cape May County, authorities said. Officers responded to the wreck on Swainton-Goshen Road near Green Holly Campground just before 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, the Middle Township police announced on Monday, Jan. 29. Jersey Shore City Gets $3.8M In Upgrades To Water Infrastructure
A city in Cape May County will receive nearly $4 million in new water pipes to replace aging infrastructure that's more than a century old. Ocean City will get $3.8 million in upgrades for more than a mile of water main, New Jersey American Water announced on Friday, Jan. 26. 'Lost Everything:' 20 People Without Homes In Wildwood Apartment Fire
A fire ripped through an apartment in Cape May County, leaving 20 people without homes, including a man and his pregnant wife. Wildwood firefighters were called to the building at 319 East Juniper Avenue just before 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, the city's fire department said. The building has six apartments on two floors. A Wildwood man is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, authorities said. More than 14,000 customers across the Jersey Shore are without power on Monday, Jan. 10, after strong winds and rain raced across New Jersey overnight. Most of those who lost electricity are in Monmouth County, according to utility companies. A Cape May County man is facing charges after he's accused of having pictures and videos of child pornography, according to authorities. A Cape May County man has been charged with stabbing another man to death in Atlantic City on New Year's Day. Atlantic County prosecutors said 30-year-old Vincent Oglesby of Woodbine was arrested in Pleasantville at around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Oglesby is accused of killing 50-year-old Richard Vincent O'Brien III by stabbing him in the neck.
