Driver Severely Burned In Vehicle Fire In Somers
A driver was sent to the hospital with burns after a vehicle fire in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Sunday, Jan. 15 around 4:50 p.m. in Somers on Nymph Drive near Lake Lincolndale, where a car caught on fire, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Luckily, the fire was out of range of any buildings. Firefighters were able to quickly put the flames out after hosing it down, but not before the driver suffered burns as a result. Car Catches Fire On Busy Road In Purchase
A fire department in Westchester County was tasked with putting out a car fire on a busy road. The blaze started on Sunday, Nov. 13, around 1:30 p.m. in Purchase on Westchester Ave in the area of the Butcher Bridge, where first responders found a late model 4-series Mercedes on fire in the parking lot of 565 Westchester Ave., according to the Purchase Fire Department. The fire was eventually put out by 2:30 p.m. with the help of two of the department's fire trucks, fire officials said. The cause of the fire was not reported by the fire department.
