Flames are rapidly spreading as Ridgefield Park police officers furiously try to pull a trapped Fort Lee driver from his burning sedan, dramatic bodycam video shows. An electrical malfunction ignited the front of 55-year-old Christopher Vagnone’s Honda Accord outside Mavis Discount Tire on Route 46 (Winant Avenue) shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, Police Chief Joseph Rella said. A trapped victim was extricated and rushed to a nearby hospital following a fiery two-car crash in Morris County, authorities said. The Mountain Lakes Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the crash — which was initially reported as a car fire — at the intersection of Boulevard and Route 46 around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, the squad said. Upon arrival, the department confirmed a two-car crash with entrapment and worked quickly to rescue the trapped victim. Emergency crews in Sussex County were quick to douse a car that went up in flames on Route 15 Thursday evening. Engine 3 with the Sparta Township Fire Department responded to the billowing blaze near milepost 11.5 in Sparta around 6:20 p.m. The department worked alongside Sparta volunteers to extinguish the blaze while minimizing delays to traffic. A mother from Atlantic County says a Good Samaritan rescued her son, Zahir Davis, and his teenage friend from a burning car. In a post on Facebook, Aseealah Davis said a woman named Jackie stopped by the flaming car in Mays Landing on the way home from work. The incident happened on Tuesday night, May 17. The unidentified Good Samaritan is believed to be from Buena. "We would like to do something for Jackie,'' Davis wrote, asking for help identifying the hero.

SUV Goes Up In Flames On Route 80 (

Fire crews in Morris County were quick to douse a SUV that went up in flames on Route 80. The Budd Lake Fire Department responded to the blaze in the shoulder of the eastbound lanes in Mount Olive on Friday, April 22, the department said on social media Saturday afternoon. Photos from the scene show the vehicle heavily smoking and fully engulfed in large flames. The fire was fully extinguished and the scene cleared within about 45 minutes. Car Fire Jams Route 4
A car fire temporarily closed eastbound Route 4 in Englewood. Flames quickly engulfed the sedan in front of the BP station just after the Sterling Boulevard entrance to the highway, sending plumes of black smoke skyward, shortly after 2:30 p.m. Englewood firefighters doused the blaze while eastbound Route 4 remained closed at Webster Avenue. Traffic quickly backed up toward Hackensack while rubberneckers slowed the flow on the westbound side. No injuries were immediately reported. A car burst into flames after crashing into a school bus in South Jersey, authorities said. Four students and the driver of the bus were not hurt, according to New Jersey State Police. The crash occurred at 7:17 a.m.on Main Street in Lawrence Township, said Sgt. Philip Curry,, a NJSP spokesman. Fire crews in Morris County rushed to douse a three-car blaze that nearly spread to a fourth vehicle Tuesday evening. Man Hospitalized In Pennsburg Car Fire: Authorities
A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out in his car, authorities in Montgomery County said. Firefighters doused the car blaze along the 600 block of Penn Street in Pennsburg around 2 p.m., a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety told Daily Voice. The heavy flames eventually spread to a second vehicle, causing damage to a total of two vehicles. officials said.
