Chatham PD: Trio Of Outdoor Diners Injured In Tractor-Trailer Hit-Run A Morris County tractor-trailer driver fled the scene after striking a pole that fell and injured three people who were eating at a restaurant outdoors, authorities charged. The driver -- whose name was not released -- was near Main Street and North Passaic Avenue in Chatham when he hit the pole, which fell and injured three people eating outside at Arminio’s Italian Corner around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, borough police said in a release. He is reunited in Heaven with Martha Jane May, his wife of 50 years who passed away in 2009. Born in Ridgewood to bridge designer Joseph Otto and Marcella Mary (Urell) May on June 29, 1926, he was the youngest of three children.  After graduating from Ridgewood High School in 1944 during WWII, Joe joined the Army Air Corps. The maximum number of customers will be roughly 30 percent of the store’s regular maximum occupancy, ShopRite said in a statement. Moments after a piece of a tree fell hitting a person on Lincoln Avenue, surrounding areas lost power affecting dozens of people and possibly a nearby school, according to local police.
