Morris County native and graduate student Conor Brian Gaul died Nov. 27 at the age of 29. Described as a “conversationalist,” Gaul was born in Livingston and spent most of his life living in Chester, according to his obituary. More recently, Gaul was living in Charleston, SC, where he was pursuing a master’s degree and doctorate in History, his memorial says. Prosecutor: Morris County DWI Sobriety Checkpoint Planned For Upcoming Weekend
Authorities in Morris County have scheduled a DWI sobriety checkpoint in Jefferson Township for the upcoming weekend. The checkpoint will be enforced Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 by members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jefferson Township Police Department, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. Checkpoints are funded using grants from the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety and conducted with help from local police departments. Police: DUI Hunterdon County Woman Had BAC Nearly Four Times Legal Limit In Morris Crash
A Hunterdon County woman blood alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit when she was involved in a crash in Chester, authorities charged. The Lebanon woman — whose identity was not released — collided with another car near Main Street and Seminary Avenue the afternoon of Oct. 31, local police said. A follow-up investigation found that the woman was drunk during the crash, police said. NJ Man Who Killed His Parents Then Went Gambling With Their Money Gets 41 Years Behind Bars
A Warren County man who killed both of his 73-year-old parents then gambled with their money at the casino where he was taken into custody will spend more than 40 years behind bars, authorities said. Todd Warner, 51, was sentenced Tuesday to 36 years for two counts each of first-degree murder, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said. The sentences run concurrently to each other but consecutive to a five-year sentence for fraudulent use of a credit card, Pfeiffer said. Thieves Steal Two Luxury Cars From Locked Garages In Morris County
Two high-end vehicles were stolen from locked garages in Long Valley and Chester on Wednesday and Thursday, authorities said. In both incidents, the thieves accessed the garage using an opener left in an unlocked vehicle, police said. These NJ ShopRite Stores Imposing Customer Limit Amid Coronavirus Spread
More than two dozen New Jersey ShopRite stores have implemented customer limits in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus. The maximum number of customers will be roughly 30 percent of the store’s regular maximum occupancy, ShopRite said in a statement. Morris County Postal Worker Admits Stealing $75,000 From Mail
A now-former Morris County postal worker admitted that she stole $75,000 worth of checks from the mail. Nicole Georges, 30, said she stole the checks from the U.S. Postal Service station in Chester, where she worked. She and two accomplices then deposited the money into various bank accounts and withdrew the money – often that same day or a day later – before the checks were reported stolen, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said. 1 Dead In Chester Fire, Prosecutor Says
One person was killed in a fire at a Chester home, authorities said. The blaze broke out at a North Road Home just before 3:20 p.m. an did not seem suspicious in nature, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. The death was also ruled an accident and the prosecutor did not release the individual's name. The homeowner is listed online as a person in their 70s.
