Area Duo Nabbed With Drugs, Guns, During Warrants Search, Police Say
Two Hudson Valley men have been arrested for allegedly dealing drugs through the region following a joint investigation.
John Diamond, age 27, of Chester, in Orange County, and Dyland Cronk, age 31, of Beacon, were arrested on Tuesday, May 18, following the investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force along with the Ulster Regional Narcotics Team, the DEA, and Homeland Security Hudson Valley, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the Task Force.

The number of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities are all on the rise in Orange County as the Hudson Valley contends with a new wave of the virus.
The number of active cases is up to 2,427, up nearly 1,000 from one month ago, according to the county Department of Health. Newly confirmed fatalities brought the death toll up to 774 as of Tuesday, March 30.
A total of 122 COVID-19 patients are being treated in Orange County hospitals.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 42,769 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 642,254 tests administered in Orange County.

Woman Admits To Role In Kidnapping, Murder Of Man In Area
A Hudson Valley woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the kidnapping and beating death of a man in the area.
Orange County resident Courtney Clemenza, age 33, of Chester, pleaded on Wednesday, March 24, in connection with the December 2019 death of a man beaten and bound on Kipp Road in the Town of Goshen, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
Three other individuals, Robert Haskell, age 55, Timothy Smith, age 37, and Seth Pelsang, age 31, all of Goshen, were also previously charged in connection with the man’s death.

A babysitter was alone with a young child when a Pennsylvania couple broke into an Englewood home, helped themselves to food, drink – even a shower – and fled in the victims’ SUV, authorities said. They may have even had sex there, too.
The babysitter eventually discovered the pair, who fled in the homeowner’s Lincoln Navigator with jewelry, a wallet, clothing and a backpack -- while leaving the clunker they drove up in behind, they said.
They also took the one item that authorities said would lead police directly to them: an iPhone.
