One of three correctional police officers charged with severely beating and pepper-spraying inmates at New Jersey’s notorious women’s prison last month punched one of them in the face 28 times, state authorities said Thursday. Hunterdon County High School Graduate, Dad Austin Gary Williams Dies, 36
Hunterdon County high school graduate and father of two Austin Gary Williams died Nov. 9 at the age of 36. Williams was born Dec. 12, 1983 in Somerville and graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, his obituary says. He previously worked in the Greenhouse at the Hunterdon Developmental Center of Clinton with more recent experience at the ISE America of Broadway, according to his obit. Former NJ Corrections Officer Who Had Sex With 3 Inmates Gets 5 Years Behind Bars
A former New Jersey corrections officer who pleaded guilty to having sex with three inmates at a women's prison was sentenced to five years behind bars and was forced to forfeit his job and pension, authorities said. Ahnwar Dixon, 42, of East Orange, was sentenced Oct. 21 by the Superior Court Judge Angela Borkowski, Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams said. Feds: Staff At NJ Women's Prison Sexually Abused Inmates
Staff members at a New Jersey prison for women sexually abused inmates, federal prosecutors said Monday. Evidence shows that the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton "fails to protect prisoners from sexual abuse by the facility’s staff," U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said Monday. This violates the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, Carpenito said. Rescuers Pull Trio Stuck Waist-Deep In Mud From Hunterdon County Reservoir
Three people were rescued after getting stuck waist-deep in a muddy area of a Hunterdon County reservoir. The three were walking on Dec. 24 across an area of the Round Valley Reservoir in Clinton that's usually under water, but was temporarily exposed due to maintenance activities, ABC7 reports. A standout college soccer star who went on to become a police officer, Julia Jeanette Caseres died Friday. She was 28. She had been battling a rare form of lung cancer, NJ.com reported. Artie Lange, the comedian best known as a sidekick on Howard Stern's radio show, has been arrested for violating the terms of a court-mandated drug rehab program, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
