Tributes are pouring in following the unexpected death of a beloved dance instructor, wife, and new mother from Long Island.
Andrea Kolbe, of Huntington, died Monday, Dec. 11, one day after her 35th birthday, according to her obituary.
Her death followed a battle with postpartum depression, leaving her husband Chazz and their 3-month-old son to grapple with her immense loss, said a GoFundMe by Heather Umhafer.
Kolbe was known in the community as a co-owner and dance instructor at Art In Motion Dance Center of Melville and Commack, where she spent 14 years.

A Long Island man has been indicted on accusations that he covered up illegal shipments of over 1,000 insects, moths, and endangered butterflies, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, 75-year-old Charles Limmer of Commack was charged on six counts for his alleged wildlife smuggling, including dead specimens of a protected butterfly species, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

Fatal Crash: 58-Year-Old From Ronkonkoma ID'd After Pickup Track Slams Into Tree In Commack
Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on Long Island.
It happened around 4:40 a.m. Saturday, June 17 in Commack.
A man was driving a 2023 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Vanderbilt Parkway, near Redleaf Lane, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, identified as Edward Riley, age 58, of Ronkonkoma, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
