Worker Killed In Fall At Norwalk's SoNo Collection
A construction worker fell to his death while working during the early morning hours on the SoNo Collection in Norwalk. The unidentified man fell around 2:39 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the new shopping area located at 100 North Water Street, said Lt. Terry Blake with the Norwalk Police Department. Blake said the man fell from an elevated height. Arriving officers rendered aid to the man, who was transported to the Norwalk Hospital by ambulance where the man later died, Blake said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is investigating the incident. …

Responders Rescue Seriously Injured Worker In Fair Lawn Construction Fall
Fair Lawn responders rescued a worker who fell from a scaffold onto concrete footing at a construction site early Friday. Borough firefighters and Fair Lawn Rescue Squad members who brought a ladder and a Stokes basket got the 51-year-old worker safely out of the trench at the River Road site behind the CVS shortly before 8 a.m., police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. He’d fallen 10 or so feet at the site, where a senior complex is being built, Metzler said. Worker, 60, Dies In Fall At Site Of Former Clifton Nightclub
A 60-year-old worker died after he fell 20 feet from a scaffold Monday afternoon in Clifton. The victim had been part of a crew that's transforming the former Bliss nightclub on Allwood Road into an attorney's office. Responders said the victim sustained a skull fracture. CPR was conducted before he was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, they said. Next-of-kin notifications were being made, authorities said. OSHA was notified.

Crane Collapses Near Manhattan's Penn Station, Operator Injured
A construction crane collapsed Monday night near Manhattan’s Penn Station, slightly injuring the operator’s foot, authorities said. There were no other injuries, they said. Explosion At Route 17 Construction Sites Injures Workers
Two employees received facial injuries following an explosion at a sewer construction site in Rockland County. The incident took place around 2:34 p.m. Monday on Route 17 in Sloatsburg at the "Metra Construction" site, said the Ramapo Police Department. According to police, the workers were clearing material from an earlier blasting, when a piece of explosive which had failed to detonate earlier, suddenly exploded sending dirt and debris in the air, police said. Man In Critical Condition After Tappan Construction Accident ID'd
This story has been updated. A 49-year-old man is in critical condition after being crushed in a construction accident in Tappan. The man, identified as Arian Hila of Dumont was working at a construction site at 120 Western Highway when he crushed around 1:45 p.m. Friday when a garbage chute collapsed and landed on top of him near a dumpster, said Orangetown Police Capt. Bedford firefighters are on the scene of a construction accident in which a worker was injured during a partial collapse of a wall, according to fire officials.
