A man was critically injured after being struck by a car at a busy intersection on Long Island.
It happened Sunday, March 29 at approximately 9 p.m. in Copiague.
Gina Liquori, 21, of Massapequa, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima westbound on Sunrise Highway (Route 27), at the intersection of Decker Street, when the vehicle struck a 50-year-old man in the roadway, Suffolk County Police said.

Man Struck, Killed By Lirr Train
A 26-year-old man was struck and killed by a train on Long Island, causing some delays.
The incident took place shortly after 7 a.m., Thursday, March 12, when a westbound LIRR train that was not carrying any passengers fatally struck the white male at the Lindenhurst station, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for the MTA.
LIRR service at Lindenhurst, Copiague, and Amityville was briefly suspended following the incident, but it resumed as of 7:52 a.m.
Babylon Branch trains are currently operating with delays of 10-15 minutes while the police investigation concludes.

A man from Nassau County was killed after being hit by a minivan in Suffolk County.
It happened at about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Copiague, Suffolk County Police said.
Nicole Campay, 40, of Lindenhurst, was driving a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country eastbound on Oak Street, east of Great Neck Road, when the vehicle struck the pedestrian who stepped into the roadway.
The pedestrian, Wojtek Brajczewski, 61, of Wantagh, was transported via Copiague Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Campay was not injured.

A Long Island woman has been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 in Copiague, Suffolk County Police said.
Sagrario Lopez-Escobar, 67, of Copiague, was driving a 2005 Toyota Sequoia westbound on 43rd Street, near Atlantic Street, when the vehicle struck an adult man walking in the roadway at approximately 10:30 p.m. Lopez-Escobar left the scene in the Sequoia.
