Fresh From Prison, Mahwah Career Criminal Busted Yet Again -- For Purse Theft
A Mahwah ex-con with a 25-year criminal history was arrested in Secaucus by police who said they found him with a woman’s purse stolen during a pair of car burglaries. Only just released from state prison six months ago, 45-year-old Christopher Murano was caught with the goods just before 1 a.m. last Tuesday, Secaucus police said. Prosecutor: Bank Worker, BF Took $375G From Late Teaneck Resident's Estate
A bank employee and her boyfriend stole $375,000 from the estate of a recently deceased Teaneck resident, said authorities who busted them. Shannell Griggs of Syracuse, NY, “used the bank’s computerized account and customer service systems to access and take over the victim’s bank accounts,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said Friday. She and Givonni Butler of Passaic then stole the deceased’s money “through a combination of illicit debit card purchases, cash withdrawals, wire transfers, and cashier check purchases,” Calo said. Nude Suspect Who Snuck Into Two Area Homes On Loose, CT State Police Say
Connecticut State Police are searching for a suspect who they say snuck into two area homes while naked.At approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, an elderly resident of Heritage Village in Southbury reported she was awoken by a nude male standing in her bedroom. The woman reported that once confronted, the suspect ran out of her house to a black vehicle and sped off. Keep Vehicles Locked, State Police Warning States
Connecticut State Troopers are once again reminding residents to lock their vehicles and take their keys after a new round of break-ins has occurred. In the latest thefts, troopers said two women's purses were stolen from two different vehicles parked in the same parking lot. In both instances, the purses were left in plain sight, troopers said. One car was unlocked, and the other had its window smashed so the thief could reach the purse. Police in New Canaan are seeking any information regarding a suspect driving a Mercedes Benz who broke the windows of a car and stole valuables from inside while it was parked in town. The New Canaan Police Department released surveillance photos on Wednesday of a suspect driving the Mercedes, which had Florida license plates. Police did not release what “valuables” were stolen. The New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they search for two suspects that went on a multi-state crime run last summer. For months, police have sought the suspects, who obtained a credit card in the Hudson Valley using a falsified New Jersey driver’s license before committing a similar scheme in Connecticut.
