Hackensack PD: Repeat Offender Who Flipped Mugshot Middle Finger Coughs On Police After Robbery
A habitual offender who once gave police the middle finger during a mugshot coughed on Hackensack police, saying he had the coronavirus, when they caught him burglarizing a car following a street robbery, authorities said Monday.
Timothy Carriel, 21, of Hoboken had just robbed a man in the 100 block of Hudson Street by pretending to have a weapon late Saturday, Lt. Anthony DiPersia said.
His companion, Raymond Adams, also 21, “apologized to the victim for Carriel's behavior and they both left the area,” DiPersia said.

A Somerset County man brought a 14-year-old girl he met online to a motel in Michigan and had sex with her there, authorities charged.
Jarred T. Robinson, 28, of the Somerset section of Franklin Township had been chatting online with the girl for about a month, they said.
Last week, he caught a plane from Philadelphia to Detroit, then took public transportation 35 miles to get to Chesterfield Township, police there said.

Manslaughter Charge In Crash That Killed Longtime Attorney In Bridgeport
A 50-year-old has been charged with manslaughter and is being held on a half-million-dollar bond in connection with a crash that killed a popular community leader and longtime attorney.
Bridgeport resident Peter Tsimbidaros, also age 50, died a day after the crash that took place around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan., 1, near the corner of Ellsworth Street and Fairfield Avenue.
The two-vehicle crash involved a 2008 Chrysler van, driven by Keith Commerford, of Bridgeport, and a 2006 Honda CRV, driven by Tsimbidaros, a longtime attorney in the city, Bridgeport Police said.

Man Hides In Closet After Violating Order Of Protection In Area, Police Say
A 26-year-old man was arrested for violating an order of protection in the area, police say.
Nathan R. Shook, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 11:40 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, after police discovered he had entered and remained in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the Town of Poughkeepsie, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd.
When officers arrived on the scene, Shook refused to answer the door in an attempt to avoid arrest, O'Dowd said.
Once inside, officers found Shook hiding in a closet, in violation of a stay-away order of protection, he added.
